Overview

As the principal investigator, he has led one National Key R&D Program during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and one key Beijing Science and Technology Winter Olympics project. He has also undertaken five projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including one key joint fund project). Serving as the Director of the Tsinghua-Toyota Joint Research Center for Autonomous Driving, he has managed collaborative projects with companies such as Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, SAIC, BAIC, and Siemens. Additionally, as the lead investigator, he has been responsible for dozens of other provincial/ministerial-level and industry collaboration projects.

Teaching

Autonomous Driving I (Undergraduate), 48 credit hours;

Intelligent Transportation Systems (Undergraduate), 32 credit hours;

Automotive Marketing (Undergraduate), 48 credit hours.

Academic Service

He serves as Vice Chairman of the Beijing Society of Automotive Engineers, Executive Council Member of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, and Deputy Director of its Intelligent Transportation Branch and Intelligent Shared Mobility Working Committee. He acted as the Executive Chair of the CICTP 2018 International Conference on Transportation Technology, served as a TPC member for renowned international conferences such as IET 2016 and AVEC 2018, was invited by the Chinese Academy of Engineering to serve as a TPC member for the China-America Frontiers of Engineering Symposium (CAFOE 2017), and holds positions as a Technical Committee Member of the China Innovation Alliance of the Intelligent and Connected Vehicle Industry and Leader of its Autonomous Driving Map Working Group.

Publication

He conducts research in the fields of autonomous driving maps, autonomous driving environment perception and decision-making, and vehicle dynamic testing and control technology. He has published over 170 papers, obtained more than 100 invention patents, and in 2019, as the project leader, received one Special Prize of the China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Progress Award and one First Prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award. He has also been awarded two National Technology Invention Second Prizes and one National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize.
