Graduate Programs SVM provides for International Students

  Carbon Neutral System Science and Technology (Chinese/English)

SVM also accepts bachelor degree holders to pursue doctoral degrees directly, if they are graduating from a top university with a high GPA.

Timelines

• Application (UTC/GMT+08:00)

1st Round: 8:00 AM Oct 15th —17:00 PM Dec 15th

2nd Round: 8:00 AM Jan 1st —17:00 PM March 2nd

Applicants are suggested to submit application during first round if they plan to apply for CGS University program (type B).

• Applicants should fill in the application information online, upload the required application documents to the platform, and pay the application fee at the time of submission.

Required Qualifications of Applicants

• Non-Chinese citizens with a valid personal ordinary-type

• Master program applicants should have a Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent). Doctoral program applicants should have a Master's degree (or an equivalent). Students who are in their final year of bachelor or master study should submit their bachelor or master degree certificates before THU graduate student registration date,  otherwise the admission qualification is invalid.

• Applicants should be in good health and of good character (meet the physical examination requirements stipulated by the country and THU), be well-behaved and be willing to abide by China's laws and regulations, as well as Tsinghua's rules.

• A brief research experience or research plan for PhD applicants

• Degree certificate  and degree authentication report

• Academic transcript

• Language competence test score report

            HSK band 4—with a score of 195 or above for Chinese program

            TOEFL (90) or IELTS (6.5) for English programs

• Two academic recommendation letters

• Passport bio page (peronal ordinary-type passport)

Evaluation and adminssion

• THU admits students based on evaluation of their application documents together with a comprehensive assessment.

• An expert group of SVM:

            Review the application documents and select the candidates for the comprehensive assessment.

            Comprehensive assessment: interview + fundamental knowledge test

• Final check by the university admission office & international students center

Costs

• Application Fee: 800 RMB

• Tuition Fees of Graduate Programs

            PhD programs: 40,000 RMB/Year

            Master programs (Chinese): 33,000 RMB/Year

            Master program (English): 39,000 RMB/Year

• Accidental Injury and Hospitalization Insurance: 800RMB /year

• Accommodation in students dormitories on Tsinghua campus:

            40 RMB /day per person for double rooms

            Full CGS covers tuition, stipend, tuition, stipend, accommodation, and medical insurance

            Partial CGS covers one or a few items
