On November 12, 2025, Clarivate released its 2025 list of "Highly Cited Researchers," featuring 6,868 scientists from over 1,300 institutions across 60 countries and regions. Scientists from the Chinese mainland delivered an outstanding performance, with 1,406 selections accounting for 20% of the total. Among these, Tsinghua University had 91 scholars recognized.

The New Energy Power System team from the School of Vehicle and Mobility delivered a remarkable performance in this year's list, with six faculty members selected. They are Professor OUYANG Minggao, Professor LI Jianqiu, Associate Research Fellow LU Languang, Associate Professor FENG Xuning, Associate Research Fellow HAN Xuebing, and Assistant Professor REN Dongsheng. Notably, Professor OUYANG Minggao has been named a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher for the eighth time, consistently demonstrating profound academic accomplishments and leading international research influence.

The Highly Cited Researchers list aims to identify the world's most influential researchers in the natural and social sciences. The selection is based on citation data from the Web of Science Core Collection, owned by Clarivate. Through systematic analysis of high-quality papers published over the past decade, it identifies top scholars whose citation impact ranks in the top 1% globally within their respective fields and publication years. Inclusion in this list signifies that a researcher has made significant contributions and generated widespread international academic influence in their field.
