COMMTR has been dual-indexed in the SCIE and SSCI databases!

On December 5, 2024, Communications in Transportation Research was officially indexed simultaneously in Clarivate's Web of Science Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI).

In the JCR report released in June 2024, Communications in Transportation Research received its first impact factor of 12.5, ranking first among 58 journals in the field of Transportation globally, and third among 72 journals in the field of Transportation Science & Technology. Being indexed in both SCIE and SSCI within just three years of its establishment demonstrates its recognition by the international academic and publishing communities in terms of academic quality, influence, internationalization, and standardization.

Here, the COMMTR editorial team extends heartfelt gratitude to the journal's sponsoring and publishing institutions, the editor-in-chief, editorial board members, reviewers, authors, and all friends who have supported and cared for the journal. Looking ahead, COMMTR will continue striving to become a platform for showcasing innovative achievements and an important window for academic exchange in the field of international transportation and related areas. Let us work together and embark on a new journey!

Development of COMMTR

Communications in Transportation Research (COMMTR) is an English academic journal jointly sponsored by Tsinghua University and the China Intelligent Transportation Systems Association. It is edited and published by Tsinghua University Press and distributed internationally by Elsevier. The journal publishes high-quality, original research and reviews of significant importance to emerging transportation systems. Founded in August 2021, it is fully open access.

Data and Code Sharing

COMMTR is one of the first transportation/vehicle journals to require the sharing of data and code. To further ensure the academic quality of published papers, enhance research reproducibility, improve transparency in the research process, and promote data reuse, the journal requires all accepted manuscripts to submit a "Replication Package." Authors are also encouraged to share their data on the ETS-Data Transportation Data Sharing Platform (https://ets-data.sciopen.com).

The ETS-Data Transportation Data Sharing Platform was jointly designed and developed by Tsinghua University Press and the School of Vehicle and Mobility at Tsinghua University. It is a publicly accessible transportation data-sharing platform for researchers worldwide, providing essential files such as data, code, and other replication materials. All files can be downloaded for free under specific agreement frameworks, and each dataset is assigned a permanent DOI and CSTR identifier for direct download and citation.

In 2022, the ETS-Data platform was included in the Data Citation Index (DCI) based on Web of Science, becoming the first Chinese transportation science data-sharing platform indexed in this database. In 2023, it was also indexed by Google Dataset Search.
